Dr Iain Duncan
MBBS, FRACP, DDU

Dr Iain Duncan received his medical degree from Sydney University before completing post-graduate training and qualifications in Rheumatology, Nuclear Medicine, and Ultrasonography. Between 1990 and 1999 Iain practised primarily in rheumatology both in private practice and as Director of Rheumatology at The Canberra Hospital from 1995-99. Iain joined Canberra Imaging Group in 1999 his special interests include musculoskeletal imaging, vascular ultrasound and SPECT-CT and myocardial nuclear imaging. He has previously done research and set widely used standards in Carpal Tunnel Ultrasound. Recently he has shown how the use SPECT-CT scanning in nuclear medicine is improving diagnostic accuracy and outcome and has collected data on over 500 cases. He is a Visiting Medical Officer at Calvary John James and Calvary Hospitals. He has been the Chairman of the A.C.T. branch of the Australasian Society of Ultrasound in Medicine since 1999 and is a speaker on musculoskeletal ultrasound and SPECT-CT across Australasia. Iain has three children, and in common with a number of the CIG partners, an interest in Brumbies rugby.
