Welcome to Canberra Imaging Group

Canberra Imaging Group is the largest private diagnostic imaging service within the Australian Capital Territory and southern New South Wales.

Canberra Imaging Group was formed following the merger of a number of smaller radiology practices with the origins of the group having a history beginning in the 1950s and the most recent merger being completed in October 1998.
We are committed to the provision of the highest standard of patient care and the pursuit of technical excellence. This commitment is evident in our organization wide continuing education program, our support of staff undertaking post graduate studies, our clinical review processes and our active involvement in the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiology ( RANZCR ) Accreditation Program.

A comprehensive diagnostic imaging practice


Canberra Imaging Group’s focus is on providing high quality comprehensive diagnostic imaging services to the community. Our diagnostic imaging services include:

  • X – Ray
  • Ultrasound (including colour doppler)
  • MRI
  • CT
  • Angiography
  • Mammography (including sterotactic localisation and mammatome biopsy)
  • Bone Mineral densitometry (DEXA)
  • Dental X Rays
  • Consultations
  • Diagnostic and therapeutic intervention

  • Nuclear Medicine.

Canberra Imaging Group has recently opened new premises at the John James Memorial Hospital at Deakin in Canberra. Located on the ground floor of the Clinical Services Building ( off Strickland Crescent ), the new service is totally digital and accommodates state of the art MRI, multi slice CT, 6 ultrasound rooms, 4 general X-Ray rooms with OPG, mammography and fluoroscopy, 2 Gamma cameras for nuclear medicine and DEXA Bone Mineral Densitometry.
